Freesia Loves Sarabeth Events!

Sarabeth Quattlebaum of Sarabeth Events is an award-winning weddings and events planner, dedicated to attention to detail and flawless event execution. Freesia has been lucky enough to work with her on many weddings and events throughout the years (like at PalmWood Events!), so we asked her a few questions about how she got her start.

Sarabeth is a Dallas native, “Born and raised in Dallas, y’all.” She knew she wanted to be a planner when she attended her first wedding show in 2004 while working for a local bridal gown studio. She loved talking all things events with the brides and vendors, and knew she wanted to snag an internship and start from the ground up. “I still remember that like it was yesterday,” she said, “I even remember the outfit I was wearing (so 2000’s!).”

Since then, she started her own company, Sarabeth Events, and built her own team. “I intentionally grew my team and company slowly. I want each bride to feel as if she’s our only bride! Most of my team has been with me from the beginning and I am the luckiest person alive to have them as my second family.”

While each member of her team has a different working and planning style, Sarabeth describes her own style as “clean, timely, organized, and FUN!” Recently, while her team handles the wedding department, she has transferred over to corporate and non-profit event planning. But she could never leave wedding planning completely–”Sometimes you’ll even find me assisting my team on a wedding because I miss weddings so much!”

Her favorite part of the job is the challenge of taking a vision and transforming it to reality. “I love watching guests as they enter a perfectly designed event and welcoming them with warm hospitality.”

Sarabeth advises brides looking for a planner to trust their gut. “Don’t only shop for price! I would recommend interviewing a few wedding planners and going with your heart. You two will be spending a lot of time together and you should get along, the conversation should flow freely and you should be able to say to your friends ‘my planner totally gets me’.”

Looking back at her career so far, Sarabeth remembers a funny moment from one of her very first weddings. “You may have heard of a little, awesome band we have here in Dallas, Emerald City. Dino (the owner of the band) came up to me and asked me where the green room was. My response: ‘There’s not a room here that’s green’ (insert facepalm here). I quickly learned after several other events that a green room was a place where the band congregates on breaks. I still laugh at myself often and learn something new at every, single event.”

Regarding the future of Sarabeth Events, Sarabeth is most looking forward to focusing on the corporate division. “We have some exciting events coming up in Denver, Florida, and Necker Island. It’s a lot of work but it’s a good challenge! It’s going to be an amazing year.”

Many thanks to Sarabeth Quattlebaum, and to the Sarabeth Events team! We always love working with them and know that you will too for your next wedding or corporate event!
